Five on Friday

It’s Friday, and that means I’m heading to the bar. Two bars – one, a tapas and wine bar. I’m taking my husband, J, to balance out the midwestern diner food he’s been eating while covering a story for work. Nothing against midwestern diner food, and I hope midwestern diners have nothing against New York City tapas and wine. But the two must be balanced.

The second, the lit bar that exists only in the shared imagination of some friends and me. We each write short short shorts (250 words max) and belly up to the bar with them on Fridays. Sort of a warm-up shot for the weekend. A warm-up short? Yes, a warm-up short shot.
